NVMe Gen4 is now standard across every Cloud VPS tier

Every Cloud VPS instance, from Micro through Premium, now provisions on NVMe Gen4 storage as of this week's maintenance window. There's no price change and no action required on existing instances — the migration happened live, host by host, with each instance's storage backend swapped during a scheduled I/O pause of under four seconds.

The practical effect is a meaningful jump in sustained random I/O, which matters most for database-heavy workloads and any instance running under write-heavy load. We ran before/after benchmarks on a sample of production instances and saw sustained 4K random write IOPS roughly double on the Basic tier and above.

If you provisioned before this rollout and want to confirm your instance is on the new storage backend, the dashboard's instance detail page now shows a storage generation field.
